Quarantine Glow With These Home Remedies

There’s nothing like a ‘good old pamper sesh!’ We all know how important self-care is for us and this all begins with taking care of the skin. 

Here are 4 easy home-made, natural remedies for all skin types to look and feel radiant morning, noon and night…

1. The Honey Facial Cleanser

What you’ll need:

1/3 cup of Honey

1/3 cup of Tea Tree Castile Soap

3 Tablespoons of Boiled Water

2 Tablespoons of Natural Skin Oil

(You Can Use Either Olive, Avacado, Jojoba, Argan, Apricot or Almond Oil)

Mixing Bowl, Towel and Spoon to Measure

Cleanser Directions:

Boil Hot Water, Mix the liquid Castile soap, honey, and oil

Add liquid Castile soap, honey, and oil into a mixture, shake well.

(Ensure honey is fully dissolved in the mixture)

Apply the cleanser evenly to skin, gently massaging to remove dirt.

Leave the cleanser on for 2-5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

2. The Green Tea Body Scrub

What you’ll need:

1 Tablespoon of Green Tea

1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar (Optional)

1 Tablespoon of Honey 

1 Tablespoon of Baking Soda

Water, Mixing Bowl, Towel and Spoon to Measure

Cleansing the face before applying the scrub prepares pores.

Scrub Directions:

Boil hot water and brew a mug of green tea, let it soak for 1 hour. 

(Ensure the teabag is cool before separating the tea leaves)

Add tea leaves, sugar, honey, and baking soda into a mixture, stir in mixing bowl until you create a paste.

(Add 1-2 Teaspoons of water if the paste is too thick)

Apply the mask evenly to skin, gently massaging to remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells.

Leave the mask on for 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

3. The Chamomile Toner

What you’ll need:​

1 Tablespoon of Chamomile Tea Bag (or 1 Bag of Chamomile Flowers)

1 Teaspoon of Honey

2 – 6 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar

1 Cup of Water

Toner Directions:

Boil water into a mug or heatproof container with the chamomile, let it soak for 10 minutes.

Ensure the teabag is cool before straining the tea leaves. 

Add tea leaves, honey, and vinegar to the into a mixture, then stir well to create an even mix.

Pour the mixture into a clean spray bottle.

Gently dab or spray the toner onto your skin using a cotton ball or soft cloth. 

3. Finally, the ‘Fresh Me Up’ Moisturiser

What you’ll need:​

4 Oz (1/2) Cup of Shea Butter 

2 Tablespoons of Natural Skin Oil

(You Can Use Either Olive, Avacado, Coconut, Jojoba, Argan, Apricot or Almond Oil)

You Can Also Add 10 Drops Of Lavender Oil or 3 Drops of Tea Tree Oil

Boiled Water

Moisturiser Directions:

Boil 1/4 of water into a glass bowl over a pot on low-medium heat

Add the shea butter, and skin oils into a mix then, Turn off the heat.

Pour the mixture into a clean bowl.

Place the mix in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, allowing the mixture to cool into a slightly firm mold.

After you remove the mix from the fridge, add in the essential oils.

Thoroughly stir ensuring that the mixture is not over whipped.

Then place into a clean jar of your desire.

Apply the moisturiser to the skin.

To keep the moisturiser fresh store at room temperature.
