Behind the scenes with International Model Margaux Deckers

From the age of 9-years-old, Margaux has been in the spotlight. Kicking off her career as a semi-professional dancer in ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop. Through dance, she found herself wanting to expand her brand. Later she began to combine modeling, dancing and walking in multiple catwalk shows, commercial videos and campaigns internationally.

“From the age of 3 I always knew that I was going to be a star” says, Margaux. Knowing exactly what she wanted from life Margaux has not stopped pushing herself to be the best at what she does. Margaux says: “Moving is my motto… Moving on a stage, in a video, or moving people through an image, a picture… Moving, my life, my dream, my future.”

Margaux Deckers is definitely a face to watch out for in 2020. The young but mighty star has already built a steady career for herself at the age of just 15. With no agency behind her for the moment, Margaux uses her ability to work hard, remain focused, and determined to reach her goal with her super, supportive ‘mom-a-ger’ Liesbet Fremault.

Margaux is no stranger to working her magic in front of the camera. Having worked with a number of internationally recognized photographers such as; Fashion photographers, Douglas Moors, Sonja De Vlaming, Selina De Maeyer, Kevin Vandenberghe, Evelyn Kuijper, Fred Loosen, Wim-Vanderwegen, Michel Zoeter, Maurice De Vries, Joyce Djo,Dimitri Pruym, Ton Van Liempd, Rosalie Van Den Kerckhove, Tom Museeuw, Bert Schaeffer, Ellie Furia and Art photographers such as; Ewa Cwikla, Ilona Teunissen, Milou Krietemeijer-Dirks, Olga Filenko and Mannon Janssen.

To round off 2019, Margaux worked on a webshop campaign shoot for the online sneaker boutique Royaums. 

Margaux Deckers is a big advocate for body confidence.

In a statement Margaux released to us she says:

“As a dancer, I don’t have size zero, but size 36-38. The fashion world is changing bit by bit and I see that more and more strong brands love to work with models with normal body size. Models that are happy with themselves and feeling good! It’s all about working hard and finding the right people to collaborate with, people and brands who love you for the person you are and not for the size of your hips!! #bodyconfidence #nosizezero

Margaux Deckers proves that age really is ‘nothing but a number’ when you have a burning desire to pursue your dreams and a team of supportive people cheering you on. We asked what advice she would give to her younger self and other young boys and girls that are on the rise.

Margaux says: “Love yourself as you are, take good care of your body and skin, eat healthily, do a lot of sport. Try to surround yourself with amazing people who will guide you on the way. And when you have a disappointment, put your head up and focus on your goal.”
