Following his recent Bloomberg profile about building a $3 Billion video game payments powerhouse, Aleksandr “Shurick” Agapitov delves more into his new company, X.LA Foundation, designed to democratize and build out the metaverse by utilizing novel technologies and concepts of Web3. X.LA will allow builders to earn as they create spaces in the virtual world.
Shurick founded Xsolla in 2005, which allows video game producers to sell in-game items in exchange for a 5% portion of each sale. His clients include Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, Twitch, & hundreds more. He plans to do the same with X.LA, but instead of users earning from each sale, builders earn a reward in the form of digital currency that they will receive whenever someone visits their space.
